The fact that Altvater Pi\u0142a has funded the first Municipal Electric Waste Point in Pi\u0142a (MPE<\/a>), that is, a special container in which electrical waste can be safely collected – reported on its website (quoting Altvater Pi\u0142a ) Pi\u0142a City Council (UM). According to the magistrate, MPE was installed on April 20 in front of one of the shopping centers in Pi\u0142a.<\/p>\n

For example, fluorescent lamps contain mercury which, just after plutonium, is considered the most toxic of all metals found in nature. After penetrating the soil or water, it can contaminate them and has a very detrimental effect on all living organisms. Batteries are also very dangerous. NEW MUNICIPAL ELECTRONIC WASTE POINT IN PI\u0141A TO FACILITATE THE CORRECT MANAGEMENT OF WEEE.<\/p>\n

The municipality emphasizes that “Since the selective collection of this type of waste is so important, Altvater comes to the rescue”. – As specialists in waste management, we are very aware of the damage that electrical waste can cause to the environment. At the same time, we understand that residents may have problems with the proper disposal of this type of waste, so we decided to make it easier for them by building the first Municipal Electric Waste Point in Pi\u0142a – said Tomasz Biela\u0144ski, CEO of Altvater Pi\u0142a.<\/p>\n

The information indicated that the MPE is an aesthetic and easily accessible device consisting of seven tubes with a capacity of 33 liters each. You can put CDs, small electronic devices (for example, calculators and remote controls), batteries, light bulbs, and fluorescent lamps in them. Individual tubes are properly marked. Altvater Pi\u0142a will take responsibility for collecting and managing the collected waste.<\/p>\n

As a local government, we carry out a number of pro-green activities and we appreciate every initiative that supports these activities. Pi\u0142a is our city, our home that everyone should take care of. That is why I would like to thank the Altvater company and encourage residents to use the Municipal Electric Waste Point – Piotr G\u0142owski, Mayor of Pi\u0142a, appealed.<\/p>\n

Pilski MPE was created thanks to the prize funded by the Marshal of the Voivodeship of Greater Poland in the category “Active in Greater Poland” as part of the Recycling Cup Contest. – The Municipal Electric Waste Points are a response to the challenge of educating the public about the segregation of hazardous waste. Broken cell phones, chargers, CDs and fluorescent lamps are dangerous for the environment because they contain many harmful and poisonous substances. The “Recycling Leader”, which Altvater Pi\u0142a became in autumn 2020, allocates the financial award received to the community in the city of Staszica. I think this is a very socially responsible attitude, for which I would like to thank you for the initiative. Jacek Bogus\u0142awski, a member of the Wielkopolska Region Management Board, responsible for environmental protection tasks, praised the initiative.<\/p>\n
